Course Overview:
This course is
designed to assist students in learning to use mathematics effectively as a
tool in their personal and business lives. It is designed to answer the
question, When am I ever going to use mathematics in the real world? This course will include topics such as:
personal finances, transportation and housing costs, insurance and investments,
manufacturing, and marketing. Also, it will reinforce skills in probability,
statistics, and logic. Students will
use a variety of techniques and appropriate technology to solve real-life
problems and situations.

*Supplies needed for this course include:
1. $20 book deposit (refundable
when book is returned at the end of the year)
2. 1 binder with lined loose leaf paper
3. 2 or 3
pencils everyday (preferably mechanical pencils)
4. 1 scientific calculator
5. 8 portfolio folders
*Always come to
class prepared with the proper
supplies, so that the daily task can
be completed promptly. Students are required to treat each other and
Mrs. Anderson in a respectful
manner.
